![]() Since then, she has co-hosted NBC4's Celebrating Black Excellence, a 30-minute special commemorating Black History Month. The same year, Magee landed a job as a meteorologist in NBC 4 and started appearing on weekday newscasts at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 11 p.m. in Geography and a certificate in Atmospheric Sciences. She left the network in 2020 after eleven years as a weekend meteorologist. Molly is a graduate of The University of Georgia, where she earned a B.S. When she's not on-air, Molly enjoys computer programming (She is certified in Full-Stack Web Development.), spending time with her husband and two rescue pups, and exploring the outdoors. This period was filled with many other unique experiences like flying with “The Hurricane Hunters,” the Department of Defense’s only unit that continues to fly into tropical storms, and executing on-ground coverage of the Category 5 Hurricane Michael in Panama City, Florida. PITTSBURGH, PA - It’s easy to predict what day of the year is a meteorologist’s favorite: It’s National Weatherperson’s Day, which is celebrated every Feb. More recently, she worked at WGCL-TV in Atlanta, Ga, where she earned an Emmy for her coverage of the 2018 hurricane season. She covered everything from blizzards and snowstorms, to tornadoes, sometimes all in a 24-hour span. Here she covered in-studio severe weather and chased tornadoes across the plains. Molly began her journey in the Midwest at KWCH-TV in Wichita, KS and KTUL-TV in Tulsa, OK. ![]() That impactful moment fueled her desire to pursue meteorology and devote her career to keeping others safe. In 2011, she witnessed the wrath of a EF-4 tornado in Tuscaloosa, AL and the destruction it left on the community. But, it wasn’t until her first-hand experience with its power that she decided to pursue meteorology professionally. Born and raised in Atlanta, Ga, Molly has always had a fascination for weather.
